"Wounded but undefeated. Ready for the next round." (Rob Harris, Ban Ban Ton Ton) The Wooden Research Facility (W.R.F.) was formed in 2015 by Nina Walsh and her late studio partner, Andrew Weatherall, to centralize the abundant production recorded together, beyond the latter's solo projects. Highlighting nine tracks from the "Apparently Solo" EP series, recorded between 2016 and 2019 and released on Bandcamp in 2023, this compilation, a true time capsule, marks the culmination of Walsh and Weatherall's creative collaboration. Their story began after they met in the early London acid house clubs, where they became partners and then managers of their labels Sabres of Paradise/Sabrettes, before parting ways at the end of the 90s. Anamchara explores the full palette of W.R.F.'s musical styles. During this period, it moves from slower psychedelic tracks, true "drug chugs" like "We Two," "Heat to Meat Ratio," and "Hidden Watchers Part 1," to punchy acid house and techno, sometimes inspired by the violence reigning outside the studio, notably "SCHLAP," "Crack-Ed," and the powerful acid title "Yacidik." - Kris Needs, 2026
