Formed in 1963 in London, The Pretty Things found success in 1964 with their first EPs and followed up with two albums in 1965. These two albums released in England were "The Pretty Things" and "Get The Picture," while in France there was only one, titled "Midnight To Six Man," with a completely different cover photo from the English albums. The band was originally formed by two friends, Phil May (lead vocal & harmonica) and Dick Taylor (famous blues-rock guitarist). The Pretty Things, who were very close friends with the Rolling Stones, followed a similar rock-blues trajectory and for this first French album, they surrounded themselves with Brian Pendleton (Rhythm guitar), John Stax (Bass guitar) & Viv Prince (drums). It is this mythical album that introduced The Pretty Things to France, as well as the four EPs released around the same time. This extraordinary album reissues the 12 original tracks plus 4 bonus tracks, taken from the EPs and not present on the original vinyl.A true musical treat of rock and blues (like The Animals or The Stones from the same period), this early career remains memorable and still legendary today for The Pretty Things (still active with the same two leaders), and only the album "Midnight To Six Man" fully allows us to relive those pure sixties moments of joy.
