A figure on the 1960s Chicago jazz scene, pianist John Wright signed his first album for Prestige Records in 1960.
Inspired by the Windy City, its seven tracks, a mix of swing and hard bop, explore Chicago's real and imaginary streets, from "47th and Calumet" to "Sin Corner," with performances by Wendell Robert (bass) and Walter McCants on drums.
This re-release is part of the "Original Jazz Classics" collection: audiophile-quality 180-gm vinyl with OBI strip, mastered from original analog tapes, original sleeve and liner notes.
