Last February, the band reappeared by posting a track on YouTube, "I See You," one of the first tracks written for this new album, which gave them a guideline for the rest of the songs. "I See You" confirms the continuation of their psychedelic synth atmosphere. The band once again moves away from their early sounds for a new-wave turn they had already begun with "Skying." Recorded in complete seclusion in their East London studio, "Luminous" was produced by the band, assisted by Craig Silvey (Noah and the Whale, Jamie Cullum, Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs…). In their ambition to constantly move forward, the band wanted to create a dazzling and authentic album by incorporating more electronic elements. The opening track, "Chasing Shadows," is the perfect example; it was conceived as a techno track with a progressive ascent towards light, making it a danceable song. Never satisfied, frontman Faris recently declared that "Luminous" was by far the best album they had ever composed! And we can only agree with him; "Luminous" is the most accessible album the band has released to date, and it should allow them to expand their audience in France.
