The Groundhogs’ second studio album, now pared down to the classic lineup of Tony TS McPhee on guitar, Pete Cruikshank on bass and Ken Pustelnik on drums, marks the beginning of their domination as the most active band on the psyché scene. This album testifies to their creativity, reinventing the blues into a neo-psychedelic groove. According to Tony McPhee in the liner notes for the 1987 reissue, it was BBC producer John Walters who pushed the band to change direction. "He decided he hated the blues," McPhee said, "we understood it was time to move away from it." This reissue also includes a mono-friendly version of the BDD single and its original B-side, Gasoline, a poignant solo track by Tony TS McPhee.
