Description

Since their hit "It's Because", released in 2013, The Geek x VRV were immediately propelled into the category of French producers managing to conquer the United States with sampling as their musical foundation. Festivals like Coachella, Osheaga, or Solidays closer to home, have succumbed to this complementarity that made the success of their BTOS beat tape series and their EPs Electric City or Origami. The duo's 1st album Time Machine revolves around a journey through time. Each track references a year, an event, and a historical link. From the track "Paris Jazz Club 1920", where they reference the arrival of Jazz in France, to "Kanagawa Waves 1831" where they pay homage to the famous Japanese woodblock print drawn by Hokusai, up to "Royale with the G's 2013" where they recall their first meeting with Gramatik at the Nouveau Casino in 2013. A pillar of the beatmaking scene in France, The Geek x VRV took advantage of their first album to invite all their friends on the album: Fakear, Anomalie, Gramatik, Møme, The Color Grey, Pomrad among others.
