Live In Stockholm 1964

Description

The Beatles returned to Sweden in 1964 and performed four concerts at the Johnneshov Isstadio in Stockholm, two on July 28th and two the following day. This excellent quality recording was for Swedish television broadcast, but neither Ringo's nor John's stage mics were working, so all that can be heard went through Paul's mic. George's and Paul's vocals, bass and George's guitar amp are very clear, but the drums and John's rhythm guitar are distant. This means we only get backing vocals on "You Can't Do That" and "I Wanna Be Your Man." This was, incidentally, the last number they played during the evening show as fans stormed the stage and the group had to cut the show short. The album also features several live tracks performed earlier in 1964, the highlight being a four-minute medley of all five of their 1962 and 1963 UK hits, two of which, "Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me," they would never again play live.
