Initially released in November 1980, The Turn Of A Friendly Card, the fifth album by The Alan Parsons Project, contained many singles, including "Games People Play," "Time," "Snake Eyes," and the album's title track, "The Turn Of A Friendly Card." The 35th anniversary of this classic and fundamental concept album is fittingly celebrated through a deluxe 2 CD box set with fascinating, often rare, and sometimes even unreleased content, featuring tracks from Eric Woolfson's personal archives, additional studio and alternative versions, all remastered under the supervision of Alan Parsons. The box set contains an incredible total of 27 bonus tracks not present on the original album, including 17 unreleased tracks, as well as personal recordings, rare singles, and alternative studio recordings. Thanks to the recent discovery of personal recordings found in Eric Woolfson's archives, fans will be able to enjoy a unique immersion into Eric Woolfson's creative process, starting from the very first song ideas that would later become the definitive versions of the tracks from this famous album. These recordings have been carefully restored to be included in this box set. You will also find in this edition a complete booklet containing memories of the preparation of this album told by Alan Parsons and the band's musicians, Hazel and Sally Woolfson, as well as rare photos (mostly unpublished) and lyrics. The story of this concept album, forged by the temporary stay of Eric Woolfson and Alan Parsons in Monte-Carlo, is simply captivating. Famous for its casino and high rollers, the area clearly influenced this album, interpreted by Eric Woolfson as a kind of cathedral for gamblers whose religion is chance. Ultimately, it is indeed this theme that is found throughout the album. Featured in Rock N Folk, Rolling Stone, and on the radio in Nocturnes Georges Lang.
