Tanita Tikaram, the voice that marked a whole generation, is back with a new album after eight years of absence. The British singer has indeed sold several million copies of her first album 'Ancient Heart' in 1988, notably thanks to the hit singles 'Twist In My Sobriety' and 'Good Tradition' while she was still a student. Here she is back with her 7th album, produced by Paul Bryan (Aimee Mann, Grant Lee Phillips, Nina Nastasia) and featuring the finest American modern soul musicians: keyboardist Keefus Ciancia (B.B. King, T. Bone Burnett, Elton John, Everlast), Jay Bellerose (the drummer of Ray LaMontagne), guitarist Mark Creswell, as well as folk singer Grant Lee Phillips. Tikaram found her inspiration in the union of soul and American folk, from her admiration for artists like Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Dusty Springfield, Don Williams, Paul Simon... a musical family whose groove and soul perfectly blend with Tanita's incredibly sensual voice.
