MORRICONE STORIES

Description

Saxophonist Stefano Di Battista is back in the spotlight with an album paying tribute to the immense Ennio Morricone, with whom he had the chance to work (the composer wrote an unreleased track for him for the occasion). Plunging Morricone's music into jazz elevates it to a new level, creating a perfect association, a natural and almost inevitable partnership. Stefano Di Battista takes hold of the composer's themes and reinterprets them as if they were made of a magical substance, a unique and mysterious music that inexplicably nourishes our souls. On this beautiful project, the saxophonist is joined by André Ceccarelli on drums, Fred Nardin on piano, and Daniele Sorrentino on double bass.
