In the early 1960s, jazz saxophonist Stan Getz actively contributed to the peak of Jazz/Bossa through his collaborations with Charlie Byrd, Astrud Gilberto, and Luiz Bonfa.
Released in 1962 on the legendary Verve label, ‘Jazz Samba’ marked the close collaboration between Stan Getz and guitarist Charlie Byrd. With this album, the two musicians introduced Samba to the US and shed light on Brazilian music.
