A native of Mississippi, Sonny grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, and has built a magnificent career since his first album "Blues Attack" released in 1981. He has also developed a rich trajectory as a studio and touring musician alongside this. Over the years, he has played and recorded with artists of the caliber of John Hiatt, John Mayall, and was even a member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. He has also collaborated with Eric Clapton and has participated in every edition of his prestigious Crossroads Guitar Festival since 2004. His unique guitar playing has made him famous, a particular combination of slide and plucked notes that allows him to create a sound composed of complex layers. This live album wonderfully showcases all of Sonny's talents, first through an entirely acoustic set on the first disc, followed by a completely electric set on the second.
