Continuing to establish herself as a major figure in the American indie scene, Lindsay Jordan remains as lucid and honest in her songwriting as ever: time passes, but her sensitivity and incisive introspection endure, anchored in generous, hypnotic new melodies and string arrangements. Produced with Aaron Kobayashi (Momma), the album's 11 tracks are tinged with musical references reminiscent of 1990s alt-rock. On 'Ricochet', Snail Mail observes time as it passes and slips through our fingers, and seeks to accept that the world will always keep turning, no matter what happens.
