"Killing for Revenge" marks the second album created by Barnes and guitarist Jack Owen (ex-Cannibal Corpse) since their reunion for "Nightmares of the Decomposed" in 2020, hailed by critics as an uncompromising show of strength. Barnes states: "We worked well together in Cannibal Corpse, I loved him as a friend and musician, so I wanted us to produce this album together." Six Feet Under was initially formed as a side project during the final years with Cannibal Corpse, and has gradually emerged from the shadow of its reference band since the release of the first album, "Haunted".
