Released in 1993, Scorn Defeat is the cult debut album of Japanese black metal legends Sigh, offered here on CD at a mid-range price. Formed in the late 1980s around Mirai Kawashima, the group established itself from the start as a singular entity on the global extreme music scene. Published on Euronymous's legendary label Deathlike Silence Productions, the album was quickly recognized as a classic of the genre. Deeply influenced by 1980s black metal (Celtic Frost, Venom), Scorn Defeat stands out for its unique atmospheric approach, blending icy riffs, elaborate keyboards, and piano passages.
