DONE COME TOO FAR/VINYLE TRANSPARENT

Description

With 22 years in the business, 9 albums, a Grammy nomination, and 5 W.C. Handy Awards to her name, the young and beautiful Shemekia, daughter of the legendary Johnny Copeland, has certainly made her mark. Through sheer hard work, the woman who could have been pilloried by critics for being "Johnny Copeland's daughter" has established herself as one of the great female voices. Born in Harlem, New York, on April 10, 1979, she burst onto the blues and soul scene at 19 with ‘Turn The Heat Up,’ her debut album, showcasing a voice worthy of Etta James and Koko Taylor combined. Since then, she has confirmed that she is now not only one of the great voices but also one of the great ladies of the blues. This new album adheres to the rules that brought her previous successes. Her last album, already two years old, was the winner of the "2020 Blues Music Award." Produced by Will Kimbrough, like the previous album, this album features contributions from Sonny Landreth, Cedric Burnside, and Charles Hodges (Hi Rhythm Section).
