Saint Asonia is Mike Mushok [the lead guitarist of Staind], teamed up with Adam Gontier, the former singer of Three Days Grace, drummer Rich Beddoe [ex-Finger Eleven], and bassist Corey Lowery [Dark New Day, Stereomud, Eye Empire]. With the help of producer, engineer, and mixer Johnny K [Sevendust, Disturbed, Megadeth], Saint Asonia marks the beginning of a new adventure full of challenges in the studio. Instead of opting for a refined and smooth style, so often associated with modern rock, they made the opposite choice, with takes without editing or overdubs. The album oscillates between the visceral "fuck you" of "Fairytale" and the sincere dedication of "Dying Slowly" from Adam's wife. These dynamics converge towards the unstoppable groove of "Let Me Live My Life." "I am really proud of the consistency of our project," says Mike. "I hope that when people hear it, they will love it and want to come to the concert! That's why we do it, to play music and then continue recording another album. That's what interests us." And Adam adds: "We don't plan to just make one or two albums. We want to have five behind us and hundreds of concerts. We are determined to give it our all."
