Description
Sahib's Jazz Party is an album by saxophonist and flutist Sahib Shihab, recorded live at Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen, around the time of his arrival in Denmark in 1963. Shihab is accompanied by trumpeter Allan Botchinsky, guitarist Ole Molin, drummer Alex Riel and 17-year-old bass prodigy Niels Henning Orsted Pederson. The recordings showcase the diversity and dexterity of Sahib's playing as a musician, and in particular his curiosity for the avant-garde, which complements the bop style that made him famous.
