'Gates to Purgatory' is the debut studio album by German heavy metal band Running Wild, released in 1984. It predates their pirate themes and features lyrics predominantly influenced by Satanism, but also includes songs with anarchic and libertarian themes. It was partly based on the theological studies of Gerald "Preacher" Warnecke. He left the band shortly after the album's release to become a priest. This special yellow vinyl version is a limited edition. The band, formed in 1984, reinvented itself with each album, ranging from progressive rock to gothic rock.
