Rone And Friends

In spring 2020, after the cold shower of confinement and the premature halt of the performances of the show "Room With A View" at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Rone finds himself in an unprecedented situation. An eternal creative, he is bubbling: "This strange period of confinement where everyone is separated, isolated, made me want, more than ever, to collaborate, to exchange and ultimately to make a 'collective' record that brings together." It is through exchanging with his friends that this project is born. The first demos naturally come to life and the idea of an album of sung collaborations begins to take shape.
On Rone & Friends, we find his "old buddy" author Alain Damasio alongside Mood, Casper Clausen, the eminent singer of the Danish group Efterklang, Mélissa Laveaux and her spoken word, or even the post-punk poet Jehnny Beth (frontwoman of Savages). Rone also invites Yael Naim to sing on ‘Solastalgia’, Flavien Berger, Dominique A, the English artist Georgia, Camélia Jordana, Odezenne, Malibu, Laura Etchegoyen, and finally Roya Arab.
This joyful plurality is found in the cover created by Corinne "Coco" Rey, whose press drawings can be seen in Charlie Hebdo: the protagonists form an incongruous circle in a light and airy atmosphere, all dancing in the same direction. All these colorful personalities brought together by Rone, whether they are long-time friends or more recent encounters, form a harmonious and warm ensemble. In his collaborations, marked by generosity, we find a refuge to curl up in during these difficult times. It is an ode to the necessary sharing and a happy object that came to life during this timeless period.
The vinyl of the limited edition is made from scraps of colored vinyl, each copy of this edition will have a random and unique color!
