"D'Argent & De Sang" is the latest creation from French producer Erwan Castex, known as Rone, famous for his critically acclaimed albums such as Room with a View and Tohu Bohu, who won a César for his first soundtrack for the film "La Nuit Venue" by Frédéric Farrucci in 2021 and the award for Best Original Score at the Cannes Film Festival for "Les Olympiades" by Jacques Audiard. Originally titled "Tikkoun," the upcoming original series from CANAL+ "D'Argent & De Sang" is produced by Curiosa Films and directed by the multi-César winner Xavier Giannoli, with whom the composer closely collaborated to develop a subtle blend of electronic and classical sounds, an area where Rone has established his reputation. "By mixing classical orchestral textures and modern electronic elements, I wanted to symbolize the heterogeneity of the worlds intersecting in this story." "There needed to be repetition and redundancy, especially with this central theme of obsession for Xavier. But also to follow the evolution of the investigation and the characters." Erwan aimed to create a strong theme reminiscent of his masters; Ennio Morricone for the pop aspect, a tension akin to Bernard Herrmann, with the grandeur of Georges Delerue.
