Description

Hesperia is the ancient name for Italy, and this one-man project from Macerata, Italy has received excellent reviews for its latest CD "Roma II". Doc Records is now releasing this album on three different vinyl formats (black, hammered white, and hammered gold). The concept is obviously about Rome, and this is the second "wolf" volume (the first was "eagle"); the Capitoline Wolf that suckled Romulus and Remus, and the wolf of Mars, who embodies the "warrior" spirit. It reflects 7 centuries of wars and battles, from the founding of Rome to the creation and fall of the Roman Empire. Hesperia is synonymous with atmospheric and pagan black metal. This album is more extreme than previous ones, and full of pure, true, and brutal black metal, with complex and frenetic parts, not forgetting spiritual feelings and epic atmospheres. Most of the lyrics are screamed in Latin with the ancient Roman pronunciation, and the music can be compared to the sound of bands like Absu, Thyrfing, Limbonic Art, Enslaved, Bathory, Arcturus, Primordial, Ancient Rites, Satyricon, Borknagar, and Immortal. Black metal with 70s Italian progressive rock/metal twists, pagan atmospheres, and an epic soundtrack style!
