Like Luciano Pavarotti with Rodolfo from La Bohème, it is with Alfredo from La Traviata that he made his debut in many theaters: the Opéra Bastille, the Metropolitan Opera, the Staatsoper in Berlin, the Salzburg Festival, and the Chorégies d'Orange. But he has also regularly sung the Duke of Rigoletto, particularly in London and New York. Although he only performed Macduff from Macbeth early in his career, and Don Carlo only twice (Amsterdam/Chailly, then London/Pappano), he regularly sings the tenor part of the Requiem: he has distinguished himself, among others, in Berlin with Daniel Barenboim, in Rome with Antonio Pappano.
