It is the fifth installment of the seven-opera series by Mozart produced by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and initiated by Rolando Villazón for the yellow label, in close collaboration with Festspielhaus Baden Baden and with the support of ROLEX. With La Clemenza di Tito, Mozart's last opera about the benevolent Emperor Titus who forgives an assassination attempt, Rolando Villazón adds yet another intriguing role by Mozart to his already substantial discography. His portrayal as Tito further reinforces his love for Mozart, in whom the singer feels a kindred spirit. Rolando Villazón has also just been appointed artistic director of the Salzburg Mozart Week.
