"Rock‘n‘Roll Hoochie Koo" is an immortal rock classic, just like the hit "Hang On Sloopy" by the McCOYS. In both cases, it is the American guitarist Rick Derringer who is behind them, but reducing his work to these two hits would be a serious mistake. Not only has he worked with JOHNNY and EDGAR WINTER and released several successful albums himself (notably "All American Boy" from 1973), but he also achieved worldwide fame as a studio musician (Alice Cooper, Kiss, Steely Dan and many others). Later, he also played with DERRINGER, BOGERT & APPICE and with RINGO STARR'S ALLSTAR BAND. Born in 1947, the musician is still active today. "Beyond The Universe" is an album of new recordings that sounds wonderfully warm and transparent, but also powerful and dynamic. The special feature here is also that Rick Derringer even remembers his beginnings with the McCOYS and does not leave them out. A must for all rock fans!
