The essential themes of Edith Piaf & Gus Viseur on the occasion of their centenary by two eminent figures of today's French jazz, Richard Galliano & Sylvain Luc. One can bet without risk that in some time we will talk about the Galliano-Luc duo, accordion and guitar, as a model of the genre. Madame la Guitare and Monsieur l'Accordéon form under the inspired fingers of the virtuosos a harmonious couple, each in service of the other and reciprocally. What else? Recorded by Gérard De Haro and Romain Casteras in August 2014 at the La Buissonne studio, in the Comtat Venaissin, the album reflects the deep understanding between Richard and Sylvain. From the themes of the legendary songs of Edith Piaf, they develop their improvisations, in chorus or by taking turns as leader and support. The magic works just as well when they draw inspiration from less known but equally captivating themes of Gus Viseur. Jazz is here and very much here!
