Mozart has been part of the core repertoire of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne since its founding in 1942. The orchestra's vast discography includes acclaimed recordings of all of the composer's piano concertos and serenades. Today, the reading of the violin concertos also reflects the relationship between the violinist and the ensemble, since Renaud Capuçon took over its artistic direction for the 2021/22 season*. In his dual role as soloist and conductor, Renaud Capuçon tackled the hidden musical challenges of these works, armed with a sense of immediacy and a determination to bring them fully to life at the moment of performance. On this double album recorded last September at the Théâtre de Beaulieu in Lausanne, one finds the Rondo in C major K. 373 and the Adagio in E major K. 261.*"And with that, it was obvious that I had to record Mozart's five concertos with the OCL. There is a very natural musical affinity for this repertoire; the sound of the orchestra and its sense of phrasing are immensely inspiring. It is a real pleasure to record these works together," explains Capuçon.
