In this new album dedicated to Ernest Chausson, violinist Renaud Capuçon, who celebrates his 50th birthday this year, reunites with the Quatuor Ébène and pianist Nicholas Angelich for an exceptional collaboration. The program explores the composer's masterpieces with the Concert op. 21 and the famous Poème for violin and orchestra, recorded alongside the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Stéphane Denève. This album pays a special tribute to Nicholas Angelich, on the anniversary of his passing on April 18, 2022. It is based on recordings of their memorable concert at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2019, offering a unique testimony to this artistic encounter.
