Le Quatuor Tana presents its new album beautifully titled, "Shadows"; the string quartet pieces by Yann Robin, Raphaël Cendo, and Franck Bedrossian, representative of saturated music, are recorded here for the first time and inaugurate, along with the CD Lenot released last year, a discography rich in discoveries for the quartet. Shadows combines poetry with vitality. This title was chosen for the multiplicity of harmonic shadows that vibrate behind a single note with a clear timbre. It is the way one makes a note resonate in the instrument that causes the phenomenon of saturation. One does not hear the fundamental but its projections: the musicians perform an incalculable number of notes at a crazy speed, almost breathless. At this pace, besides the ear saturating, it seems that twenty instrumentalists are playing. One must be athletic to play the scores of Yann Robin, Raphaël Cendo, and Franck Bedrossian.
