A multi-instrumentalist mastering alto and baritone saxophones, flute, and clarinet, William B. Lasha, a.k.a. Prince Lasha, left his mark on 1960s free jazz.
Recorded in 1962 with alto saxophonist Huey Simmons and bassist Gary Peacock, the adventurous 'The Cry!' features eight compositions influenced by Ornette Coleman and surprising excursions into the blues ("Red’s Wood") and Latin rhythms ("Juanita").
