After projects on Method 808 and Future Classic, a feat with Chloé Caillet and an official remix for Fatboy Slim, PPJ are entering a new era at full speed. They blend Brazilian storytelling and techno with influences from street sounds around the world. A global, wild, and maximalist soundsystem. Led by singer Paula and the productions of Povoa (supported solo by Four Tet, Ben UFO and Barry Can't Swim, with a new EP on Live From Earth), the duo creates sounds ranging from neoperreo to Miami bass, via electroclash and tech-house. PPJ's new release, JOKER, adopts a figure found both in card games and in Rio's carnival culture, a symbol that reflects their own DNA: funny, unsettling, seductive, unpredictable. They go even further in club music, without bothering to smooth the edges. With JOKER, PPJ are not merely inscribing themselves in club culture. They shake it up and make it their own.
