Simpler than "À la Terre", its predecessor released on Castle Face Records in 2020, "Électrons libres du Québec" is the second album by Population II. On this LP, produced by Emmanuel Éthier, the trio composed of singer/drummer Pierre-Luc Gratton, guitarist/keyboardist Tristan Lacombe and bassist Sébastien Provençal delivers a heavy and psychedelic rock imbued with feverish funk rhythms, a hint of jazz philosophy, an explosion of early punk energy, and a love of minor scales that recalls the roots of heavy metal.
