Pollyanna is the pop-folk project of Lille-based artist Isabelle Casier. For several years and four albums, she has been performing with her guitar and songs in the European folk underground (France, Germany, Great Britain, Benelux). In the studio, she expands her ballads with a more electric and rock sound. Ultimately, she evokes both rock legends and folk icons, bringing to mind Neil Young, Laura Veirs, or the power of a PJ Harvey. Her new album, "Man Time," continues the vintage vein of her previous works but offers a more focused and pop-oriented songwriting style. In English, chosen for its universality and rich imagery, Isabelle, a former journalist, explores intimate themes, playing with contemporary flaws and passions: suspended moments and emotional uncertainty, the quest for self, feminism, and travels that open up the world while also losing us... These deceptively classic tracks make them both timeless and fiercely rooted in their era.
