Philip Glass is an American composer, considered one of the most influential musicians of the second half of the 20th century. He is part of a movement of so-called minimalist music alongside artists such as La Monte Young and Terry Riley. Songs from the Trilogy is a compilation of songs taken from Philip Glass's operas entitled Einstein On The Beach, Satyagraha and Akhnaten. Note that most of the tracks on the album have been altered or shortened compared to their original composition.
