Giovanni Antonini and his ensemble Il Giardino Armonico celebrate a composer who made his name: Antonio Vivaldi. Their recordings of The Four Seasons and the famous first recital of Cecilia Bartoli have forever marked the discography of the red-haired priest! The fireworks continue with a program of concertos that will leave no one indifferent, as it is the result of a meeting with a musician who also pushes boundaries, violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja. Together, they have conceived a program titled WHAT'S NEXT VIVALDI?, which intertwines ultra-virtuosic concertos by Vivaldi (RV 208 Il Grosso Mogul, 253 La Tempesta di Mare (for violin!), 157, 191, 550...) and, between each concerto, short pieces written by much more recent composers, Luca Francesconi, Simone Movio, Giacinto Scelsi, Aureliano Cattaneo, Giovanni Sollima, most of which were commissioned by Patricia Kopatchinskaja specifically for this program.
