In October of 1999, Nina Nastasia recorded the album that would finally document her well-established career as a local singer/songwriter in NYC. The album is exemplary of Nastasia’s style, with its delicate string arrangements, the understated beauty of her live band, the deceptive simplicity of her voice and her poignant, life-worn lyrics. The following year, Dogs was released on CD on the micro-indie label Socialist Records. By the end of 2000, Dogs was out of print. The album also marked the beginning of a long-standing relationship with recording engineer Steve Albini. In 2004, Touch and Go Records re-released Dogs on CD and, for the first time ever, on vinyl. The vinyl quickly sold out and has been out of print for almost two decades…until now. Pressed on white vinyl.
