NILS FRAHM is a German musician, composer, and producer born on September 20, 1982. Based in Berlin, he blends classical and electronic music through an original approach to using his instruments (grand piano, upright piano, Juno 60 synthesizer, Fender Rhodes electric piano, Taurus). In addition to his solo work, he has also collaborated with artists such as Anne Müller, Ólafur Arnalds, F.S. Blumm, as well as Luke Abbott (Border Community) and Chris Clark (Warp). His album "Spaces," released in 2013 on Erased Tapes, established him as a benchmark for blending classical, contemporary, and electronic music. He took over the reins of the now-famous LATE NIGHT TALES series right after JON HOPKINS. He included tracks from FOUR TET, BOARDS OF CANADA, BIBIO for the electronic side, and MILES DAVIS, Carl Oesterhelt/Johannes Enders, and others for his jazz and classical references. It also features six exclusive tracks, two of which are his own: a cover of JOHN CAGE's "4:33" and the track "Them" from the soundtrack of the acclaimed film "VICTORIA" (the first film in the world shot in a single take). The epilogue is presented by Cillian Murphy (Inception, Batman, 28 Days Later) reading a story by Edna Walsh (Hunger, Disco Pigs). The CD includes a voucher for downloadable unmixed tracks in MP3 or WAV format, and the vinyl includes a voucher for a free downloadable mix.
