Originally released in November 1972, this album marked the second release by Nektar and was a key milestone for the band, defining the formula that would bring them success both in Germany and the United States. Composed of only four tracks, the first side of the album is dominated by the long title track, a true tour de force of progressive rock. The other tracks - "Desolation Valley / Waves," "Crying In The Dark," and "King Of Twilight" - also became classics of Nektar. Steve Harris of Iron Maiden was among the admirers of this album; his band even covered "King Of Twilight" on the B-side of the "Aces High" single in 1984. This new mix by Ben Wiseman from the original tapes was warmly received by fans and critics upon its first release on CD in 2025. This vinyl edition, mastered at AIR Studios in London, offers this acclaimed mix in a sleeve reproducing the original album artwork.
