My Bloody Valentine - the quartet formed by Bilinda Butcher, Kevin Shields, Deb Googe, and Colm Ó Cíosóig - is one of the most innovative and influential bands of the last forty years. At a time when English guitar bands exhibited, at best, a certain retro-classicism, my bloody valentine sounded like none of their contemporaries and resonated like the future. With their first album ‘Isn’t Anything’ (originally released in 1988), my bloody valentine revolutionized alternative music and heralded a new approach to guitar music and studio production for generations to come.
