For My Parents is the new album from Japanese quartet MONO, a band that has produced, over half a dozen albums, instrumental rock with lyrical melodies, a kind of neoclassical noise. Following their acclaimed album Hymn To The Immortal Wind and the triumphant tour that followed (captured on the double live album Holy Ground), MONO once again demonstrates great sensitivity and extraordinary maturity at the crossroads of styles and their evolutions. For My Parents is the first album without the participation of Steve Albini (who had been with them since 2003) and legendary producer Henry Hirsch recorded them in a converted cathedral in New York. The album also features their partners from the previous tour, The Wordless Music Orchestra. Between hypnotic melodies and cinematic symphonies bridging East and West, MONO remains true to their grandiose and cerebral rock.
