Forever Home: Live In Japan With Orchestra Pitreza

Description

When MONO first envisioned performing with an orchestra, the idea seemed an impossible dream, requiring an exceptional alignment of circumstances and a massive team of generous collaborators. Ten years after their debut, the Japanese band traveled to New York to assemble an orchestra, book a historic venue near Lincoln Center, and attempt an unforgettable performance. This highly successful 2009 concert defined a new facet of MONO’s identity: live orchestral performance. Since then, the band has performed numerous concerts with various orchestral ensembles worldwide but had not played in Japan for over fifteen years. Forever Home: Live in Japan with Orchestra PITREZA celebrates MONO’s 25th-anniversary orchestral "OATH" world tour, featuring twenty concerts across Europe, Asia, and the United States in late 2024. Recorded before a full house at Tokyo’s Spotify O-EAST, the album brings together MONO and a twelve-piece orchestra conducted by Chad McCullough to perform OATH in its entirety. The hundred-minute concert concludes with "Ashes in the Snow" and "Everlasting Light," paying homage to their first orchestral performance in New York. Mixed by Matt Cook, Forever Home captures the band in their natural environment, offering a transcendent experience enhanced by the symphonic accompaniment of Orchestra PITREZA. The physical formats of Forever Home reflect the grandeur of the event. The 2xCD box set, designed by Jeremy deVine, unfolds into a quadruple gatefold and includes a full HD Blu-ray film of the concert, while the 3xLP triple gatefold is available on black vinyl or limited-edition colored vinyl. Each format includes a 28-page photobook documenting the entire concert. MONO delivers a complete and immersive experience here, celebrating both their return to Japan and their orchestral identity.
