Monde sensible

Description

Four years after Jungle contemporaine, Mesparrow makes a remarkable comeback, gaining even more poetry, depth, and density. With this "Sensible World," Mesparrow composes a mischievous map of emotions, aided by the mad-scientist arranger Nicolas Bourrigan, bassist of the band Isaac Delusion, and producer Antoine Thibaudeau (Thylacine, Kid Francescoli), who puts his vibrant signature on the electronic rhythms. Here, the machines are not cold but enchanted, fluid, or flourishing. This constant trait of the singer is evident: that perfect balance between euphoria and melancholy, the organic and the synthetic. One foot on the dancefloor (Twist), the other in a cotton field (Saudade). The voice, with its cracked gravity, whirls and plays with the pulse. Driven by a liberating force, the thirty-something can afford every audacity, even the solemnity of piano-voice during an ultimate confession (Elle rougit). And while we remember her love for Barbara, Mesparrow is above all one of those women who prevent song from going in circles.
