On her excellent debut album released in 2013, MESPARROW dared to include only one track in her native language. Three years, a long tour, a few awards and playlists later, the singer has made a giant leap and successfully taken on the challenge of writing solely in French, without abandoning any of her musical singularity along the way. This *Jungle Contemporaine* is thus still a delicate intertwining of electronic patterns over which the young woman modulates her voice like a more pop Laurie Anderson. Sometimes one also thinks of Camille or Suzanne Vega. This shift to French seems to give her wings and opened her delicate voice to unsuspected horizons. If, at the time of "Keep This Moment Alive," the press readily compared her to PJ Harvey or Cat Power and her tightrope-walking voice, MESPARROW today reveals a charismatic power that almost recalls Véronique Sanson in her heyday or a French-speaking Tori Amos for the intensity of her singing.
