After a hardcore start, Merchandise arrived at 4AD with a new album and a new direction in 2014. The aptly named After the End then fulfilled its promises with influences somewhere between the heyday of The Smiths and The Jesus & Mary Chain. Galvanized by the Tampa scene and inspired by its noise sound, A Corpse Wired For Sound opens a new chapter for the band, extending its eighties sounds on this new album, still a trio with Carson Cox (vocals, electronics), Dave Vassalotti (guitar, electronics) & Pat Brady (bass).
