After two joint tours in the last decade, the Melvins are continuing their tradition of collaborating with another band on an album. Next on the list: Napalm Death! This isn't just a simple split where each band has its own side. *Savage Imperial Death March* is a true collaboration, with the Melvins and Napalm Death playing together on all tracks. This release, originally appearing as an ultra-limited CD and vinyl edition on AmRep in 2025 (only available at shows and on the AmRep store), is an extended version with two bonus tracks, new artwork by Mackie Osborne, new vinyl variants, and will be available for the first time in record stores, on streaming platforms, and elsewhere. Napalm Death is considered a pioneer of grindcore, having incorporated elements of crust punk and death metal. Even after having an indelible influence on the heavy metal scene for nearly 40 years, no other band in the world sounds like Napalm Death. More than pioneers, they are an essential benchmark for innovation. With boundless audacity in heavy and experimental music of all genres, the Birmingham legends continue to charge full speed ahead. The Melvins are one of the most influential bands in modern music. Formed in 1983 by singer/guitarist Buzz Osborne, joined a year later by drummer Dale Crover, the band is known for fusing the worlds of punk rock and heavy metal, creating a unique new subgenre. In over 40 years of their career, they have released more than 30 original albums, numerous live albums, and an incalculable number of singles and rarities.
