"Somethin' Else" was first released in 1959 under Cannonball Adderley's name when he was in Miles Davis's Sextet. Cannonball is joined by Hank Jones, Sam Jones, Art Blakey, and Miles Davis. The original album's reputation has grown over the years and is now considered one of the key albums of the 50s. This edition includes the original album plus the sixth song recorded that day, "Allison's Uncle" (also known as "Bangoon"), a rarely heard alternative take of "Autumn Leaves", and an extended live version of the latter tune recorded by the Miles Davis Quintet with Sonny Stitt in Manchester in 1960. This edition features the complete original album "Money Jungle", which was Duke Ellington's only trio with Charles Mingus and Max Roach. A complete trio session from 1953 has been added as a bonus.
