Marie Davidson returns with a hard-hitting electronic music album with multiple influences. Marie Davidson is a Quebecois singer, poet, and electronic music producer. She is one half of the group Essaie Pas. As a solo artist, she has already released 3 albums, including Adieux au Dancefloor. With her new album, she turns the spotlight back on herself. "Working Class Woman" is the Montrealer's 4th album, and it is also her most analytical: a snapshot of her state of mind, a commentary on the stress and tensions of a life revolving around electronic music and club culture. The sound of "Working Class Woman" is more direct than that of her previous releases. She still explores the same grooves, from Italo Disco to proto-industrial and electro, but she weighs them down with a punch to the gut, making it a more visceral album than all her previous releases.
