An unreleased live recording of the Mal Waldron Trio from 1970. First official release with the authorization and cooperation of the Mal Waldron Estate and the INA (Institut National de l'Audiovisuel). This recording was made in the salons of the Palais d'Orsay in Paris on March 10, 1970. The International Sound Festival was taking place in this city at the time, and this recording was broadcast on the radio program "Jazz Vivant" hosted by André Francis. The performance on this record is a first, and it bears witness to the rebirth of pianist Mal Waldron at the head of a trio composed of drummer Christian Vander (co-founder of the band Magma) and bassist Jean-François Catoire (Vander's long-time partner). Waldron's career resumed after his European exile, a long hiatus linked to his patient recovery process after years spent struggling with his addiction.
