Hunter (1919-1983) worked with the George Shearing Quintet in 1951 and recorded four incredible albums in the mid-50s, accompanied by jazz stars. However, her popularity faded and her last recordings date back to 1964. On Night Life, she can be heard with an ensemble led by Manny Albam, featuring Al Cohn, Joe Newman, Barry Galbraith and Hank Jones.
