Lumio (the name of a Corsican village meaning "village of light") is one of those rare projects – timeless and unfashionable – which, as soon as we hear them, already seem essential, luminous, and stand out from current productions. A project. A vision. A swan song that becomes a tree of possibilities, like so many intimate slices of life through which LUMIO attempts to provoke with its philosophical pop. Behind this project is Niko Gamet, a driven artist, nurtured by English pop and American folk. A voice reminiscent of John Martyn, Joe Cocker, Fink. Echoes of The Beatles, Peter Gabriel, Tom Waits, and other references.
